The Bi-cultural Road to Hollywood for Actress Yvette Yates
A bundle of beauty, brains and energy in equal proportions, Yvette Yates took the path less traveled to Hollywood. A border-town girl originally from the City of El Paso, Texas/Chihuahua, this strong-willed Latino is proud of her Mexican heritage and dedicated to encouraging young, Hispanic artists to research and learn as much as possible about every aspect of the industry before diving in.
In El Gringo, she plays Anna, a strong-willed female lead from a border town, like herself. Unlike Anna, she once aspired to be a medical doctor, securing a Bachelor's Degree from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) before becoming a film sensation.
September 26, 2012 became "Yvette Yates Day" in the City of El Paso where she selflessly speaks at high schools, churches and other groups about the role of Hispanics in the film industry.
